Caleta Paposo(Reads: 7, since 26-Jul-2010)This beach is located 54km to the north of Tal Tal and is suitable for swimming, fishing and other water sports. In the past it was a mining town. It is surrounded by pasture lands and natural water holes. This area was inhabited by pre-Hispanic cultures like the Changos. During the colonial period it was used as an encomienda (a feudal system of trusteeship). The area is rich in the flora and fauna typical of the coastal desert region. From Caleta Paposo you can visit: Loreto Rock Art 25km to the north of Caleta Paposo there is an area with rock art. On the rock face there are pictures depicting the daily life on the seas of the indigenous people. There are is also rock art painted with red dyes.
