Chiloé Museum of Modern Art

This museum was founded in 1988 by a group of people interested in contemporary art.
 
It is a space that houses the contemporary constantly being produced in the country, the idea being that this will contribute to Chile’s cultural development and preserve its artistic heritage. 


It holds one of the most important collections of contemporary Chilean art. In the summer it organises an annual exhibition of contemporary art which is an opportunity to invite different groups of artists. 


It is an independent museum which finances itself by contributions received from visitors.
