(Reads: 168, since 10-May-2011)

Parque Nacional Puyehue
Futacullín Bay
This bay is located on the southern side of Lake Puyehue, opposite Fresia Island, at River Ñilque’s river mouth near the city of Osorno. The area has a very small population.

Golgol
This area is situated downstream, in the southern part of the Golgol River, between the Anticura River and the Pajaritos River, along the international road to Argentina.

The source of the River Gogol is Lake Constancia, near the Argentinean border. It has a strong current and travels a long distance, as it pounds down the Andean foothills towards the central valley until it flows into Lake Puyehue near Osorno.

Río Pilmaiquén

The source of this river is Lake Puyehue, which represents the border between the two provinces Valdivia and Osorno. The river is not very wide and its river edge is steep and wooded. It is also a tributary of the River Bueno. Boats start their journey at ‘Rucatayo’ and go as far as the river mouth.

Mantilhue

This area is on the northern side of Lake Puyehue. The sector is extremely beautiful and offers visitors long beaches for swimming, water sports and lots of possibilities for fishing.

Puntilla Ñilque

This is a densely wooded peninsula with summer houses. A few killometres away you will find cabins called Cabañas Ñilque, a small bay with a marina and beach, accommodation and a restaurant. You will also see the café called Refugio del Lago which has boats and services for people who want to fish.

Fresia Island

It is near the northeastern shore of Lake Puyehue 80 km from Osorno. It has a surface area of over 400 hectares and is full of forests of native trees, the most populous being the majestic one hundred year old Pellines.

It was colonized by Austrian immigrants at the end of the 1930’s. The island is home to species like the red deer, fallow deer, mouflons, roe deer and wild, Cimarron goats.

It is the perfect place for people who enjoy hunting and observing flora and fauna.
