The Cardenal Antonio Samoré Pass(Reads: 179, since 26-Ene-2011)The Cardenal Samoré Pass, previously known as the Puyehue Pass, is located in the Andes Mountains 53 km from Osorno. It is accessible and open to the public all year round between 08:00 and 21:00. Both Chilean and Argentinian sides of the border have customs and passport control.
As snow falls along the mountain pass in winter, vehicles will need snow chains or Four Wheel Drive. The pass connects Puyehue with Villa Angostura, the last populated area in the south of the Argentinian province Neuquén. You can go as far as San Carlos de Bariloche and San Martín de los Andes.
