How to get to Cunco?

Cunco is located 60 km from Temuco and 745 km from Santiago. You can get there:

By car:

The main route into this regional capital is via Ruta S-51, which is a paved road, 58 kilometres long connecting Cunco to Temuco, via Huichahue. Another route into Cunco is Ruta 5 Sur, which is Ruta S-61. It begins in Freire and is 58 kilometres long, but only 20 km of these are paved (the Freire - Radal and Cunco – Temuco stretches are via Huichahue). In the east, Ruta S-61 connects Cunco to Melipeuco, which is a gravel road 32 km long.

By bus:

There is a daily bus service to Cunco from the Terminal Alameda in Santiago which is on the street known as Avenida Bernardo O'Higgins. When travelling from Temuco you can get there by using a special service in the intercity bus station located in Av. Balmaceda between Manuel Bulnes Street and Aldunate Street. It is very close to the other bus stations which all provide regular daily services up until 8:30 pm.
