Located in the northwest corner of the island of Chiloé, 1,109 km from Santiago and 90 km south of Puerto Montt, Ancud (population 39,000) is one of the most beautiful towns on the island and offers a wide range of facilities.

Its wet, maritime climate has encouraged the development of tourist activity aimed at exploiting its natural attractions. These include beaches where you can practice water sports such as fishing and diving.

For many years its economy was based on agriculture (potatoes in particular) and wood, but now they also include oyster and salmon farming.
