This is a village of 541 inhabitants located 64 km from Antofagasta, at an altitude of 1,035 meters above sea level. Here you can visit the Railway Museum and the former Station, declared a National Monument. Its importance was due to its strategic location since it stood on the north south railway line.

The village also has a “museographic” room, where the local people present the history of the place through stories and objects, giving out tourist information and gifts.

The railway museum is located in the old engine yards of FCAB, dating from the end of the 19th Century. Such items as locomotives, tools, workshops, a turntable and some motorcars are preserved. American and German railways stand out.
