The Lagunillas ski center is 67 km from Santiago, and 17 km north east of San José de Maipo, through which you have to drive to get to the center. It is the only ski Center at a height of 2,200 meters.

This is a long-established winter sports area, offering a range of possibilities such as ski touring, snowboarding and off-piste skiing. It has a definite family atmosphere, and the hut is modest, although there are plans to improve it. It is administered by the Club Andino, and the skiing area is 200 hectares, with thirteen maintained pistes of varying degrees of difficulty. The most popular pistes are Novicios, Pancho and La Lola, 350 and 1,100m in length. There are also opportunities for night skiing in this center. There are four draglifts.

The center has qualified instructors, both to introduce novices to the sport and to help more experienced skiers to improve their tecnique. Skis, snowboards and accessories are available for hire in the hut of the Club Andino, which is at the entrance to the slopes.

In winter you will need chains to get up to the slopes. Food and lodging are available in the center.
