(Reads: 943, since 26-Ene-2004)

The population of Toconce is only 100 people, who survive at an altitude of 3,310 meters above sea level. It is 91 km east of Calama and 22 km north of Caspana. It is a small village of pre-Hispanic origin, built of stone and located among rocky cliffs. It is surrounded by terraced crops and offers a beautiful view of the peaks of the Andes.

The main commercial activity is the cultivation of alfalfa and vegetables.
At the top you will find the walled church. There are four plinths on the ground to take the images carried in procession in the festival which takes place every year on July 25th.

Nearby you can find archeological attractions such as the Alero del Río Salado, Río Toconce and Lican.
