Chilean Airports

The majority of foreign tourists arrive in Chile by international commercial flights. The airport for Santiago is Aeropuerto Internacional Comodoro Arturo Merino Benítez, also known as “Pudahuel”. It lies outside the city, about 40 minutes journey time from the centre.
There are some 25 airlines operating out of the airport. The greatest range of domestic and international flights, with frequent or daily departures, is offered by Lan Chile. For flight bookings and information on destinations served visit www.lanchile.com
Lan Chile, the national airline, has daily flights serving the following Chilean cities: Arica, Iquique, Calama, Antofagasta, Copiapó, La Serena, Santiago, Concepción, Temuco, Valdivia, Osorno, Puerto Montt and Punta Arenas. The following are the airports for Chilean cities: Arica- Chacalluta (ARI), Antofagasta- Cerro Moreno (ANF), Balmaceda - Balmaceda (BBA), Calama - El Loa (CJC), Concepción - Carriel Sur (CCP), Copiapó - Chamonate (CPO), Iquique - Diego Aracena (IQQ), Isla de Pascua - Mataveri (IPC), La Serena - La Florida (LSC), Osorno - Cañal Bajo (ZOS), Puerto Montt - El Tepual (PMC), Punta Arenas - Carlos Ibañez (PUO), Temuco - Manquehue (ZCO), Valdivia - Pinchay (ZAL).

There are taxi services between the cities and the airports, however they are quite expensive. There may also be minibus or transfer services available, depending on what part of the city you want to go to.

NOTE:

Passengers entering the country on passports issued by Australia, Canada, The United States and Mexico must pay a Reciprocity Tax before passing through immigration. The amounts to be paid are: Australia US$ 30, Canada US$ 50, United States US$ 100 and Mexico US$ 15. This amount must be paid in cash in US Dollars or Chilean Pesos.
