How to get to the Chilean Antarctic?

(Reads: 1759, since 26-Ene-2004)

The Chilean Antarctic is located 990 km south of Punta Arenas and you can get there:

By Plane:
You must find out about flight schedules in Punta Arenas, given that they are subject to weather conditions. The flight lasts 4 hours and lands on Isla San Jorge, at Base Presidente Frei. From there, you have to walk 2 km to get to Villa Las Estrellas.

By Boat:
There are cruises that sail through the Antarctic, sailing out of Punta Arenas and Puerto Williams and lasting between 11 and 20 days.
