How to get to Coquimbo?

Coquimbo is located 12 km south of La Serena and 462 km north of Santiago. You can get there:
By plane

You travel from La Florida airport in La Serena and then take a taxi or public transport to Coquimbo. 

By car

Whether travelling from the north or the south you will need to take the motorway Ruta 5 heading to Coquimbo or La Serena. The journey from Copiapó is 344 km and from Iquique 1 397 km. When travelling from the south the journey is 462 km from Santiago and 231 km from Los Vilos. 

By Bus

There are regular bus services from La Serena and the seaside resorts around Coquimbo. Buses leave Santiago everyday. Consult the timetable in the relevant bus station.

By Boat

Access by sea is restricted to the international cruise liners which dock in Coquimbo Bay.
