Tongoy

Tongoy is located 48 kms from Coquimbo and 60 km from La Serena. It is a peninsula which has two beaches: Playa Socos and Playa Grande. 


Playa Socos is approximately 2 kms long and provides excellent conditions for seashore fishing – it is particularly good for sole and sea bass. 


You access it via a country road which goes alongside the river mouth and connects the main road to Tongo directly with the land along the beach. 


Playa Grande is a vast beach which stretches over approximately 14 kms and offers relatively good conditions for swimming but it is particularly good for seashore fishing and boat fishing. You can rent boats in the harbour to take a trip or to just enjoy the scenery. 


Both beaches provide hotel accommodation, cabins, camp-sites, restaurants and a fishing bay where you can buy fresh seafood.
