Teno

(Reads: 104, since 10-Jun-2011)

It is located 17 km north of Curicó. In the Mapuche language Mapudungun it means "shrivel up with cold". Its economy is based on crops but particularly all kinds of fruit preserves which are in huge demand because most of them are exported. The area is also famous for the quality of its equestrian examples that are trained here for horseracing and Chilean rodeos.

Here, you can relive the old, country customs like rodeos, travelling along dirt paths and pan amasado (homemade bread) baked in clay ovens. Its wealth lies in the fertile soil and its inhabitants.

Teno provides accommodation facilities and a lot of places where you can sample local cuisine in friendly, relaxed surroundings.
