One of the more noteworthy of Lincantén’s tourist attractions is the wide coastline where you will find the beaches of Iloca, El Peñon, Duao, Lipimávida, La Pesca, Rancura, and Infiernillo. Further east from Iloca is the town of Lora where you can buy dairy products like cheese and butter, amongst others, at the well known Lora Farm. In this same place you can witness a regional religious celebration known as the Fiesta de los Negros or Fiesta de los Empellajados when homage is paid to the Virgen del Rosario. A procession is carried out by men dressed in animal skins and a special prayer said. As far as eating out is concerned, in Licantén, like in Iloca, there are many different places where you can try typical regional Chilean dishes or fresh seafood. If you prefer to cook for yourself, a huge variety of seafood is available, at very reasonable prices, at the cove of Duao. Places to Visit in LincanténStatue in Homage to the Poet Pablo de RokhaThis is an interesting place you should not miss, located 3 km to the west of Licantén. Made out of wood, it is a portrait of the whole body of the poet Pablo de Rokha, which has behind the Pasarela Los Escalones, that was built where was located the old Brigde Los Escalones. Iloca and Duao These are the most popular, busy resorts of the coastal zone of Curicó. Here you will find hotels, hostels and high quality boarding houses, as well as tourist activities or peace and tranquility. La Pesca Located 1 km from Iloca and 22 km east of Licantén, this is a strip of land along the coast that finds itself under the influence of the mouth of the river Mataquito. The region is characterized by the littoral bank that the river has formed, and which itself has formed a mirror of gentle water, separated from the sea. Traditional fishing and sport shore fishing are practiced there, where you can find species such as corvinas and róbalos (both types of sea bass), pejerreyes and sole.
