Plaza de Armas of Curicó
Considered one of the prettiest plazas in Chile, and declared a Typical Zone in 1986. It is known as the Plaza de las Palmeras (the Plaza of the Palm Trees) because of the 60 examples of this species of tree that surround the plaza, that were brought here from the Canary Islands.

Bandstand of the Plaza de Armas
This is the main attraction of the plaza, in the style of the Eiffel Tower, and built in 1905 thanks to the determination of the provincial governor of that time, Arturo Balmaceda Fontecilla, who donated part of his own income to finish it. It was declared a National, Historical Monument in 1978.

Iglesia del Carmen
This church is decorated with columns and capitals worked out of stone. It has three large naves, which stand out from a central nave with a long cannon.

Iglesia de San Francisco
Originally built in 1731, belonging to the Franciscan Order. After the foundation of the city, and because of damages sustained in an earthquake, this monastery was moved to the place where it now stands. The temple started out in 1880. The Virgen de la Velilla is kept in this church, brought to Chile by Don Manuel Díaz Fernández in 1734, and it’s the only existing replica from the Sanctuary of Mata, in Monte Agudo, taken out of Spain in 1734. It is located in calle Las Heras with Avenida España.

Cerro Carlos Condell
Very overcrowded during Public holidays, this cerro (hill) is 65 meters above the level of the city, and from its top you can get a beautiful panoramic view of the city and its surrounds. You can reach the top on foot via the steps, or by vehicle on the road that circles it. The cerro Condell is located in the center of the city. Works are currently being carried out to pave the roads up and down from the cerro.

Museum of History of Curicó
The museum was founded by the Firemen’s Corp on 29 June 1963, and the first banners of the institution are displayed there.

Alameda Manso de Velasco
A fairly busy walkway 1,400 meters in length where you will find leafy trees and monuments dedicated to Luis Cruz Martínez, Bernardo O’Higgins, Arturo Prat and the Air Force, amongst other sculptures.

Fiesta de la Vendimia (Grape Harvest Festival)
A huge celebration organized by the city council together with the most important wind growers of the region. This festival takes place between 15 and 20 March every year, where one of the main attractions is a fountain of wine, from which pours wines produced in the region, which visitors can drink from with no charge. This celebration takes place in the Plaza de Armas.

Potrero Grande (Large Open Grassland)
Found in the Andean foothills, 30 km from Curicó. This is a very popular tourist spot, because of its brook and gorge. It is an excellent place for a family outing where you can enjoy fresh fruit, delicious vegetables and fresh air. Some kilometers further towards the Andes you reach the region of las Buitreras, that offers a heavenly campsite with tall waterfalls between gorges with vegetation a beautiful deep green in color.

Upeo
This famous country mansion is found 10 km to the east of Potrero Grande. The locals are people deep-rooted in the area, who preserve the traditional customs of their ancestors. Amongst them are some old-aged inhabitants over the age of 100.

Los Queñes
Located 48 km northeast of Curicó. On the road from Romeral towards the mountainous chain of the foothills of the Andes we find this village. It’s the door to and Andean pass for ranchers, and the meeting point of two rivers. It is a long-standing popular resort for families from Curicó, where you can fish, make excursions into places deeper into the Andes, and relax.

Iloca and Duao
These are the most popular and crowded holiday resorts of the coastal region of Curicó. Here you will find hotels, hostels and quality boarding houses, as well as things to do as well as peace and quiet for tourists. Iloca lies 120 km from Curicó.

Monte Oscuro
Found in the foothills of the Andes, 50 km from Curicó. There are 12 sites for camping, spring water and a brook with pools suitable for bathing and fishing.
There are facilities for cycling, horse-riding, walks along paths and excursions throughout the area.
