Museo Colonial Alemán
The German colonial museum displays the way of life of the first colonists to arrive in the area. There are buildings typical of the epoch, as well as furniture and machinery dating back to the second and third generation immigrants. The museum has beautiful gardens and hundred-year old trees.

Anfiteatro del Lago
This is the center which hosts the concerts and other events which make up the “Semanas Musicales de Frutillar”. In addition to the open-air amphitheater with a floating backdrop, which will vary according to the level of the lake, there is a restaurant and shops.

Reserva Forestal Edmundo Winckler
This reserve is an experimental forestry center belonging to the University of Chile. There is an environmental interpretation trail, which runs for 800 meters through native forest.

Parque Nativo Forestal de la Universidad de Chile
Also known as the ‘Bosque del Recuerdo’, this park is an interesting place to visit and enjoy nature. Companies which specialize in sport fishing offer their services, and the visitor can also enjoy various other activities such as walking, water skiing, boat trips, horseback riding, bicycling etc.
There is lodging and food available. Visitors regard it as the traditional place to enjoy delicious teas in the purest German style (with cakes and open tarts).

Monumento a Los Colonos Alemanes
The monument to the German colonists was constructed in 1936 by the German Colony as a memorial to the efforts of the first immigrants to arrive in the area. From here there are wonderful panoramic views over the Lago Llanquihue and the Andes with its volcanoes.

Casa Patronal
This big country house built on a hill, known also as ‘Casona de Campo’, dates from 1989, and represents the economic rise of the German farmer. It is an idealization of the main house of a big farm and was built of the finest native woods of the area.

El Campanario
A circular barn, covered with a conical roof supported on a single central pillar. The interior is an unobstructed circular area some 20 meters in diameter.

El Molino
The mill was brought here from a site on the lakeshore. It is water-driven, the bladed wheel being turned by water fed along a wood-lined channel.

Casa del Herrero
The forge is the exhibit which best represents the life of the early colonists. There is a collection of the machinery and tools which were vital for farm work in a remote area, where self-sufficiency in the maintenance of farm implements was essential.
