It is a little town with narrow, picturesque streets with adobe buildings colored with earth. It was founded with the name Villa San Francisco de Borja de Combarbalá in 1789 by Juan Ignacio Flores. You can visit the church, located opposite the plaza, decorated with motifs of the diaguita culture. Another attraction is the handicrafts you can find here made out of combarbalita, a semi-soft stone similar to marble, that was declared a National Stone of Chile in 1993.
