Juan Fernández Archipelago

Robinson Crusoe Island was formed about three million years ago when there was an extrusion of liquid magma from the bottom of the ocean. Later, other similar eruptions created Isla Santa Clara and Isla Alejandro Selkirk.

These three islands make up the Juan Fernández Archipelago which is located 667 km from the continent. Its geography is characterized by a rugged and mountainous terrain and it has a Mediterranean climate.
