(Reads: 2346, since 23-Ene-2004)

La Serena is 472 km north of Santiago, 12 km north of Coquimbo, 254 km from Los Vilos and 88 km from Ovalle. You can get there:

By Air:
There are daily flights from Santiago, Iquique, Antofagasta and Copiapó that arrive at the La Florida international terminal in La Serena. Ask about departure times.

By Car:
From Santiago take the Pan-American Highway north for 473 km on a two-lane paved road. Coming from any point to the south you travel on the same route.

If you are travelling from the north, you should go south on the Pan-American Highway or Ruta 5 to La Serena.

By Bus:
There are frequent departures from Coquimbo. From Santiago there are various buses a day. Enquire at the terminal for departure times.

By Boat:
If you wish to arrive by sea, you must travel to the port of Coquimbo, and from there cover the 12 km to La Serena by some other form of transport. Taxis are available.
