These pools are located 370 km from Santiago and 38 km southeast of Ovalle, next to a brook that comes from Punitaqui, and is the nearest one to the coast in existence in Chile.

The waters of the resort are of note because of being bromide-saturated. There is a hotel and a campsite.

The thermal swimming pool is open air, with a temperature of around 22ºC, and there are thermal baths recommended for circulation, rheumatism and skin problems.

In the surrounding area there are archeological stones and ancient trees of various species.
