This is located a few kilometres from Colchane in the high plateau area, east of Iquique and Pozo Almonte. At a latitude of 3900 metres, this town has managed to conserve one of the most beautiful religious buildings.

It is a ceremonial centre which acts in accordance with the Aymará worldview. This is why it is uninhabited for the most part of the year, except on ceremonial days or holidays. The town still conserves many of the customs shared by the pre-Columbian towns.

Isluga Church, which dates back to the 18th century, was built with irregular stone walls which were sealed together with mortar and plastered with lime to give it the typical white colour. On one side of the church you will see a 12 m high bell tower.
