Located on the shore of the Seno Última Esperanza, Puerto Natales lies in the vicinity of the Riesco mountain range, 247 km northwest of Punta Arenas and 3,103 km from Santiago. It was founded in 1911 and is the gateway for those who wish to visit the Torres del Paine, the Cueva del Milodón or the glaciers of the Campo de Hielo Sur.

Currently it is the center of administrative and commercial services for the intense cattle ranching activity in the province. You can count on a good tourist infrastructure.

The facilities and English architectural style of the Frigorífico Bories industrial complex are interesting. Founded in 1913, it was established as a meat processing plant for the cattle from three large ranches in the area.
