Puerto Williams

The town is located on the northern shore of Isla Navarino, along the shores of the Beagle Channel. It has a population of about 2,500 inhabitants and it is 300 km from Punta Arenas. It is considered to be the southernmost city in the world and it was named after Juan Williams, founder of Fort Bulnes.

There are facilities such as telephone services, a tourist hotel, boarding houses, airport, museums, and a sailing club.

The Martín Gusinde Museum is a must. There you will find items from the Yamana culture, and a pictorial display of the natural resources and fauna of the area.

The Regata Glorias Navales is celebrated in May. The Longest Night festivity takes place on the 21st of June. The Snow Festival is celebrated in July, and in November the anniversary of the city is commemorated.
