Lliuco
Located 14 km from Quemchi, this is a beautiful hamlet with long beaches that stretch out for over 3 km, from where you can see the volcanoes on the continent (Osorno, Puntiagudo and Cabulco) and the church next to the beach.

Huite
Located 9 km from Quemchi, this is the place where the writer and winner of the National Prize for Literature, Franciso Coloane, was born. From here you get one of the most beautiful panoramic views of the zone. Also here you will find the beautiful Punta Arenas, that lies right on the Caucahue channel.

Laguna Popetán
Located 8 km from Quemchi, suitable for fishing and water sports. This is one of the most beautiful sea inlets, as it is enclosed by hills up to Montemar, 6 km away.

Colo River
Located 19 km to the south of Quemchi, this is a beautiful sea inlet enclosed by hills until Montemar, 6 km away.

Colo
This is a little town that owes its name to a wild cat that lives in the surrounding area and goes by the name of ‘Colo’. The main attraction here is its church, which is a World Heritage site. To one side is the school.

Church of Colo
Located in the town of Colo, on the Isla Grande of Chiloé. The patron saint of the church is San Antonio, whose festival takes place on 13 June.

This is one of the hardest churches to access, since it is so isolated, and it is believed to have been founded in the 18th Century.

It was declared a National Monument on 10 August 1999, and a World Heritage site in December of 2000.

Quicaví
Located 23 km south of Quemchi, on the coast, this is a town surrounded by beautiful beaches, which in the past was known for being the land of sorcerers, according to the legend of the region. You will find a one thousand year old parish church here. From here you can also visit the Chauques islands, found opposite.
Islas Chauques
An archipelago located opposite Quicaví. It lies on the east coast, or interior sea of the Island of Chiloé and is formed of the islands of Mechuque, Cheniao, Añihué, Taucolón, Voigue, Tac and Butachauques.

Islas Tac
They have a wonderful interior sea where you can sail for one or two hours and get in touch with nature, and observe the many native species of marine wildlife that live there.

Mechuque
This is the largest island belonging to the Chauques archipelago with a surface area of 15km², and is situated southeast of Quemchi, opposite Punta Tenaún. It has its own particular landscape with tiny little roads bordered with “palafitos” (base of a house made of sticks over the water). There is a museum there which tells the history of the island and its inhabitants.

Butachauques
Its name means ‘group of large islands’ and it belongs to the Chauques archipelago. They cover an area of 40km² of natural beauty. The inhabitants fish in the bays of San José, Nayahue and Metahue. It also includes the islands of Aulín, Coneb and Maluco.

Añihué
This island is part of the Chaqués archipelago and is noteable for its landscapes of small streets with palafito-style houses.
