The MIM is the biggest and most modern complex of cultural entertainment in Chile, with regard to both its contents and its educational nature, which is based on the interactive participation of the visitor in each of the 330 displays of sciences, arts and nature.

It is one of the most important of its type in the world and constitutes nothing less than a park of the imagination and a challenge to the senses, because the visitors experiment and learn in an entertaining way. It has fourteen thematic rooms which cover subjects such as mechanics, biology, light and perception, history and art.

This museum covers an area of eleven hectares, which include spacious parking facilities, eating areas, an auditorium for eighty persons, a souvenir shop, an events venue and spacious areas which make it ideal for a family day out.

Inaugurated on March 2, 2000, it has had an average of 50,000 visitors per month.
