Nature Sanctuaries in Santiago

Cerro El Roble
Was declared a Nature Sanctuary in 2000. It covers 996 hectares in the Til Til sector of the Santiago Metropolitan Region. Its highest point is 2,222 meters above sea level.

Los Nogales
Was declared a Nature Sanctuary in 1973. It covers an area of 11 hectares in the Cajón del Arrayán in the Lo Barnechea sector of Santiago.

Yerba Loca
Was declared a Nature Sanctuary in 1973. It covers an area of 39,000 hectares at Km 26 of the road to Farellones, in the Lo Barnechea sector of Santiago.

Of the 39,000 hectares, 11,575 are administered the National Forestry Corporation (CONAF). This protected area contains a number of sites of interest, particularly Villa Paulina, Piedra Carvajal and the La Paloma and El Altar glaciers.

Parque Quinta Normal
Was declared a Nature Sanctuary in 1976.
It is in Calle Matucana between Santo Domingo and Diego Portales, in the Quinta Normal sector.

Cascadas de las Ánimas
Was declared a Nature Sanctuary in 1995. It is in the village of San Alfonso in the San José de Maipo sector of Santiago.

El Arrayán
Located at the end of the Camino del Alto, in southern part of the El Arrayán sector of the Municipality of Lo Barnechea, Santiago.
