Was declared a Nature Sanctuary in 1973. It covers an area of 39,000 hectares at Km 26 of the road to Farellones, in the Lo Barnechea sector of Santiago.
Of the 39,000 hectares, 11,575 are administered the National Forestry Corporation (CONAF). This protected area contains a number of sites of interest, particularly Villa Paulina, Piedra Carvajal and the La Paloma and El Altar glaciers. More Articles in Santiago and Surroundings
