This resort is between 3.330 and 590 meters. It is 149 kilometers from Santiago via the international border route which goes to Mendoza in Argentina via Los Andes.

It is one of the most famous South American ski resorts, the only one which has held world ski championships in the region.

It is surrounded by very high peaks, including the nearby Aconcagua Mountain, the highest in the continent. It is very near the the Laguna del Inca.
