Food and Drink (5) Transport (0) Free Time (1) Institutions (1) Tourist Services (10) These hot springs are 104 km from Temuco, 17 km east of Curacautín, via the international road to Paso Pino Hachado, and 45 km from Lonquimay through the Las Raíces Tunnel. The access road is paved all the way. The springs are at an altitude of 680 meters above sea level, and the water flows at a temperature of 48° C.
The Termas del Manzanar hotel was opened in 1952. There are two open-air swimming pools with thermal water, private cubicles with bath-tubs, and thermal water piped to the tubs nine of the twenty-five rooms with private bathroom and central heating, and eighteen rooms with shared bathroom. The hotel has a coffee-shop and a restaurant, offering generous servings of Chilean and international cuisine. There is a games room, with pool, billiards and ping-pong; and open-air activities like walking, excursions and fishing in the Río Cautín, which runs just past the hotel. The springs are open all year round and in winter there may be snowfalls. In the vicinity you can visit waterfalls, lakes and the Parque Nacional Conguillio. A waterfall in easy reach is the Salto de la Princesa, 25 meters high, set among coigües over 800 years old. Access is by the Victoria-Curacautín road or the Lautaro-Curacautín road, 56 km, and from there on the Curacautín-Manzanar road it is 17 km. There are daily bus services from Temuco to Lonquimay, and taxi service from Curacautín.
