How to get to Vallenar?

Vallenar is located 668 km north of Santiago and 145 km south of Copiapó. You can get there:

By Plane

You can fly as far as Copiapó and then continue your journey by road, for 145 km, to Vallenar.

By Car

It’s a journey of 668 km from Santiago, and it takes approximately 9 hours. Whether you are traveling from the north or the south you need to take either Ruta 5 Norte or the Panamericana to Vallenar.

By Bus

There are frequent departures daily from Santiago, a journey of approximately 10 hours. You can catch a bus during the day from the surrounding towns. Check local bus terminals for details.
