Museo Regional de Rancagua

(Reads: 115, 08-Jul-2010)

The museum is located at Estado Nº 685 in Rancagua. The building is typical of the colonial architectural style of the 18th Century. The exact date of building is not known, however, records from 1797 show that a Rancagua resident with the surname of Rodriguez sold it to Francisco Baeza.

The museum was founded in 1970 and is laid out in the form of a typical 19th Century house - there is a study, a parlour and a dining room. In addition, there is a room with religious images and one with objects and documents relating to the period of independence and Chile's Founding Fathers.

Opening hours are 10am - 6pm Tuesday to Friday and 9am - 1pm on weekends and public holidays. There is a charge for entry. For more information please call or fax (72) 221524 or email museo@chilesat.net
