Church of Tenaún(Reads: 2322, 30-Jun-2004)Located 37 km from Dalcahue, in the town of Tenaún whose name means ‘three mountains’, symbolized by the three towers of the church dating from the 19th Century.
This is one of the oldest churches of the region and is made of various types of wood, amongst them cypress, mañío, cinnamon tree, and hazel nut tree. The people of Chiloé have restored the church at some points, which can be witnessed by the architecture which was slightly modified at the end of the last century, when the original design of the church was remodeled. The surface material has also been changed. It was declared a National Monument on 10 August 1999 and a World Heritage site in December 2000.
